Contractor FAQ

Questions worth answering before you become a Prime Signal contractor.

These answers describe the Prime Signal platform generally. Your specific account configuration and commercial agreement control where they differ.

What is Prime Signal Media?

Prime Signal Media partners with local service contractors around homeowner service opportunities and provides a dedicated contractor portal for availability, service workflow, communication, and account visibility. The relationship is designed to extend beyond simply emailing a lead.

Does Prime Signal guarantee a certain number of leads or jobs?

No. Prime Signal does not guarantee lead volume, appointments, jobs, customers, or revenue. Volume depends on homeowner demand, service fit, account status, availability, capacity, and routing conditions.

Where do Prime Signal homeowner opportunities come from?

Prime Signal develops demand through a mix of channels that can include local SEO, service-area and educational content, conversion-focused landing pages, organic social visibility, paid search, and paid social where appropriate. The channel mix can differ by market and service category.

Does the contractor have to generate the leads for Prime Signal?

No. Prime Signal's role includes working on the homeowner-acquisition side of the relationship. Contractors may continue their own marketing independently, but Prime Signal does not expect a contractor to supply the homeowner demand that feeds the Prime Signal platform.

How does Prime Signal know which marketing channels are working?

The platform supports lead-source visibility so opportunities can be associated with acquisition sources. That information can be used to understand which channels are producing activity and where a market's acquisition strategy needs to improve.

Why can lead volume still vary if Prime Signal is marketing?

Marketing activity does not create a guaranteed number of service requests. Search demand, seasonality, local competition, service category, campaign performance, conversion rates, market maturity, and other factors can all affect the number and quality of opportunities produced.

Can I control when I am available for new opportunities?

Yes. The contractor portal includes self-service availability and capacity controls such as operating days/hours, vacation mode, workload limits, daily lead limits, emergency availability, and service-specific capacity.

What happens if my crews fill up or I go on vacation?

Update your availability and capacity in the Contractor Portal. Those settings are designed to inform future Smart Routing without requiring you to contact Prime Signal every time your operating capacity changes.

Can I change my approved services or service area myself?

Those are platform-managed account controls. Contractors maintain operational availability, while approved services, service areas, activation status, routing priority, and other administrative settings remain with Prime Signal.

What happens after I receive a service opportunity?

The contractor portal supports the working service record, including relevant lead details, appointments, estimates, work orders, outcomes, communication history, and follow-up tools.

How does billing work?

Prime Signal supports configured commercial terms with account charges/credits, statements, invoices, payments, and related provider activity. Your exact pricing, billing trigger, payment expectations, and applicable adjustment rules are provided as part of your contractor relationship.

Why is there no public price on the website?

Applicable commercial terms can depend on the contractor account, service category, market, and configured relationship. Prime Signal reviews the specific terms with a contractor before activation rather than asking you to infer them from a generic public rate.

Can I see my charges and account activity?

The commercial platform is designed to surface charges, credits, statements, invoices, payments, and payment-provider status through the contractor experience so account activity remains inspectable.

Is the Contractor Portal the same as the Prime Signal administrator system?

No. Contractors receive a dedicated portal experience with the capabilities required for their account and service workflow. Prime Signal administrative controls remain separate.

Can Prime Signal automatically change my availability?

The contractor maintains the operational availability and capacity settings exposed in the portal. Prime Signal retains platform-level controls such as account status, approved services, approved service areas, routing priority, and other administrative configuration.

How do I get started?

Submit the contractor application with your company, services, and operating area. Prime Signal can then review whether there is a practical fit for the current market and platform before moving into account and commercial setup.

Where do I log in after I am approved?

Use the Contractor Login link in this website's navigation. It goes to the separate production Contractor Portal used for availability, assigned service activity, and contractor account workflow.
